Machine Service Info

Welcome! Here’s everything you need to know before bringing your sewing machine in for service with Spindle & Thread. Please read through the details below to make the process smooth and easy.

When dropping off your machine, please make sure to include:

  • The thread and bobbin you were last using (especially if there was an issue)
  • A standard zigzag presser foot
  • The foot pedal and power cord
  • Any specialty accessories related to the issue (if needed)

These items help me fully test your machine and make accurate adjustments.

  • Standard Tune-Up – $100
Includes cleaning, oiling, tension adjustment, and basic troubleshooting.
  • More Involved Repairs – Price determined after inspection
If the machine requires part replacements or deeper mechanical work, I’ll assess it first and send you a quote.

Since I don’t have a storefront, all drop-offs and pick-ups are by appointment in public meeting spots around Greenwood, SC.

Preferred locations include:

  • Greenwood County Library
  • Hobby Lobby – Greenwood
  • KJ’s Market – Coronaca

I usually need about a week from the time I pick up your machine to get it back to you. If it’s going to take longer for any reason, I’ll keep you updated!

I focus on vintage and antique machines. I currently do not work on modern plastic-body machines, sergers, or embroidery machines.

Please fill out the contact form with any questions or to start the process of having your machine worked on.

Looking forward to working with you!
